Dick Embler was one of my childhood friends. We were in grammar school together before he and his brother Tommy went to Catholic school and we were also in Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts. He was a year older than me and we played baseball in the corner lot at Watson and Beach and built a swimming hole in the river we called Muddy River (officially it was Pine River) and roamed the woods along the river. He was a marine, a priest, and a CPA (not all at once).
