Obituary: Charlotte Alma Carrington Robertson was born to Otis Edward Carrington and Charlotte Clark Carrington on May 26, 1923,in Waterbury, Connecticut. On her mother's side, she was an 11th generation descendant of William Brewster, who came over on the Mayflower. After high school, during World War II, she enlisted in a newly formed branch of the Navy which was just for women, known as the WAVES. She served from September 1943 until October 1945. While stationed in New Orleans, she met a handsome young sailor by the name of Connie Ray Robertson. On July 28, 1945, they began what was to become almost 69 years of marriage. She and Connie spent most of their married life in Fort Worth, where she was a secretary, homemaker, and mother to their son Glenn. Charlotte always loved music and enjoyed singing hymns in her beautiful alto voice. She and Connie spent their retirement years on their lovely property in East Texas. There she enjoyed doing volunteer work such as helping students with their reading at the local elementary school and playing bingo with the residents at the local nursing home. She also loved quilting and made beautiful quilts for each of her children and grandchildren. She and Connie moved back to the Dallas area two years ago to be near family. Connie predeceased her on June 25, 2014. Charlotte entered peacefully and joyfully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 8, 2016. She is survived by her son Glenn and wife Vicki, her granddaughter Rebecca Roberts and husband Patrick, her grandson Daniel Robertson and wife Amy, and her great-granddaughter (her "GiGi") Victoria Grace Roberts. She was interred with military honors on February 11 beside her beloved Connie at DFW National Cemetery.
